This task was not on my list today. In fact, this was my first time. Let me tell you about it.
So I got frustrated with the shower earlier because the water does not get hot enough and does not stay hot long enough. We recently got a new water heater installed so I figured it needed to be adjusted so off I went to do it myself since, one, my husband is at work and, two, I didn’t feel like calling the maintenance dudes. They’re nice but they walk through your house with big grungy not-so-carpet-friendly boots.
First, I took precaution by shutting off the necessary switches within the breaker panel. After that, I grabbed my “tools” - a flat head screw driver, jewelry pliers, a butter knife, & a tablespoon of coconut oil. Don’t laugh. Okay, you can chuckle a lil bit because you’re probably wondering about that coconut oil, right?
I used the coconut oil to loosen those datgummit screws - they were screwed in very very tight. The oil worked great. Next, I alternated between the flat head and the butter knife (the jewelry pliers were not helpful at all) to get into the top panel. I got that sucker off, increased the temperature dial, & reattached the panel. The same thing was done for the bottom panel.
At this point I felt like I had super powers. *insert visual of muscle flexing here*
I flipped the breaker switches on and revelled in my accomplishment. Mashaa Allah. In the process I damaged one my nails but that’s such a small price to pay and nothing a little nail buffer can’t fix.
